Russian state media reports disinformation

On September 9, the VETO social and political movement held another protest in front of the Open Society Foundations – Armenia office. About 15 people can be seen in the video posted on the Facebook page of the movement.

However, Russia’s state-run TASS news agency claims in the article (archived) published yesterday that “about a hundred” members of the VETO movement took part in the protest. The article notes that the source of information is their local correspondent.

It is noteworthy that the news disseminated by “TASS” was published on the Facebook page of the movement.

Earlier, on May 27, Narek Malyan, the founder of the VETO social and political movement, issued a statement that protests would start to close the “Soros Foundation” (Open Society Foundations), since the latter is carrying out activities inside our country aimed at destroying it.
