Armenian service of Russian Sputnik agency has recently published a few articles on topics of high publicity and disseminated misinformation.

In this article with horror-inspiring title, however, the author touches upon the recent fuss of the draft law on Domestic Violence Prevention.
«If the law is adopted, it should be expected that cases of child abuse disclosure will increase, therefore, the number of children to be taken from unsuccessful families to orphanages will increase.»
It should be noted that despite of author’s claims, Article 59 of the RA Family Code already states in which cases parents may be deprived of their parental rights. Particularly, parents may be deprived of their parental rights if they treat a child with brutality, the child is subject to physical or mental violence, or sexual harassment, and so on.
But leaving the content of the material aside, let’s look at its shape. Sputnik uses titles having no connection to articles aiming to create preliminary opinion of people, because due to lack of time they often read only titles of publications or 1-2 paragraphs at best.
Thus, the title reading about incest parades (latin Incestus – interfamily relationships) and negative attitude of the reader towards it are projected on the information following it, in this case draft law on Domestic Violence Prevention.
Sidorov on selling weapons to Azerbaijan: “Maybe there is a positive side in it»
Today’s another Sputnik publication contains misinformation as well. Colonel Anatoly Sidorov, head of the CSTO Joint Staff, said: “There is a good saying: the holy place does not remain empty. If Azerbaijan intends to buy arms, it will find it … maybe there is a positive side in it (selling of weapons to Azerbaijan by Russia)”.
But no matter how much Moscow says that trade is merely business, there is no politics, etc, in April 2016 Armenian society realized that Armenian soldiers died from Russian weapons and in that trade nothing positive could be for Armenian side.
Thus, periodically an attempt is made to justify in the eyes of Armenian society the weapons supply to Azerbaijan by Russia through press conferences organized at press center of Armenian service of Russian Sputnik agency.
Armenia is in the top three largest recipients of Russia aid
Sputnik, referring to Vedomosti at the beginning of the article, writes: “Over the past 12 years the greatest amount of Russian aid was received by Armenia (323 million dollars, 2015) and Tajikistan (21.7 million, 2015)”.
However, when reading the article till the end, it becomes clear that the assistance provided to Armenia by Russia is not $ 323 million, but $ 37.3 million, and the greatest assistance in the amount of 323 million dollars was received by Kyrgyzstan.
It is also worth mentioning for comparison that, for example, US Agency for International Development (USAID) provided Armenia with more than 1 billion US dollars assistance in 25 years.
Thus, Sputnik agency applies the entire propaganda spreading toolkit at hand to mislead Armenian society.
