Yesterday, on September 6, Sasun Miroyan, an employee of the Water Committee and an advisor to the Department of Irrigation and Collector-Drainage Systems, posted on Facebook that the structures in the area of the private house of former Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan located below the established elevation (1903 m – Ed.) are being dismantled.
Miroyan’s post on Facebook was countered by the former police chief’s lawyer Tigran Atanesyan, who wrote: “Nobody came and demolished Colonel General V. Gasparyan’s summer house. Moreover, hardly anyone would come and demolish it. The old building, which has not been used for a long time, is being demolished on V. Gasparyan’s instruction in order to improve the beach area.”

The Fact Investigation Platform decided to find out who is demolishing a part of Gasparyan’s private house and who has given the order.
It should be reminded that last year the former Minister of Environment Erik Grigoryan announced that all the buildings below 1905 meters in the coastal area of Lake Sevan, which are illegal, are subject to demolition.
The Fact Investigation Platform had previously referred to the illegally constructed buildings of former and current officials in the coastal areas of Lake Sevan. This large private house of Vladimir Gasparyan is registered in the name of his wife’s mother, Heghush Galstyan. The construction of the private house started in 2004, when Gasparyan was the head of the Military Police.
Spokesperson for the Minister of Environment Davit Grigoryan told Fip.am that Sevan National Park had sent notices to the owners of buildings below 1901.5 m elevation, warning that they were obliged to dismantle or remove their buildings with their own means within the set timeframe, otherwise the state will do it, and will charge the cost of those works from the owners.
“As a result of the notices, in all probability, some owners have already started the dismantling of their buildings,” the spokesperson said.
In other words, Gasparyan himself initiated the dismantling of a part of his large private house on the shore of Lake Sevan.
By the way, in his post, Atanesyan called on “those who talk about Sevan today” to compare what Gasparyan did for Sevan and to be silent out of shame. It should be reminded that last year Fip.am found out that “Galilia” LLC, registered in the name of Gasparyan’s mother-in-law, was engaged in the production of canned whitefish, while whitefish fishing was banned in Lake Sevan.
