The information about the “Armenian company” being sanctioned by the USA is actively spreading on social networks. Some of the users of social networks present the news as a consequence of Armenia’s support to Russia to avoid sanctions.
According to the official information of the US Ministry of Finance, it concerns Tako LLC registered at 1 Garegin Nzhdeh str., Yerevan.
The information was published as an update to the list of individuals and companies affiliated with Russia, and is presented as an affiliate of the Russian company Radioautomatic.
Chinese SINNO Electronic Co. CJSC, four individuals and one Russian company were sanctioned on the basis of affiliation with the same company.
Radioautomatic is a Russian “defense procurement” chain that imported foreign equipment to Russia for military equipment produced by Russia.
According to the US Department of Finance, “Radioautomatic pays Tako to import parts and carry out the procurement process in the territory of Armenia. Furthermore, both Sinno and Taco have been in touch with each other regarding their activities with Radioautomatic.”
News of the sanctions against Armenian Taco LLC was quickly speculated on social media, even by prominent Azeri lobbyists Luke Coffey and Mike Doran who claim that Armenia is helping Russia avoid sanctions after Russia launched its attack on Ukraine.
According to the State Register of Legal Entities of Armenia website, Tako LLC was registered in Armenia on April 5 of this year by one Vadim Sergey Verkhovtsev. Verkhovtsev is a citizen of the Russian Federation, and the company is registered in the territory of Yerevan “Hayrenik” business center.
