The state propaganda machine of Azerbaijan often gets entangled in its own lies, contradicting its own statements.
On October 27, Azerbaijani media reported that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces had managed to kill the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Artsakh, Commander of the Defense Army Jalal Harutyunyan. The pro-government website haqqin.az even published a video, claiming that it was a footage of the operation to “liquidate” Harutyunyan. The analysis of the video shows that the media outlet received it from the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.
On October 30, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan issued a statement saying that an international arrest warrant has been issued against Arayik Harutyunyan, Davit Babayan, Jalal Harutyunyan and Arman Babajanyan for crimes against civilians in Ganja.
And here a question arises. How does Azerbaijan declare a person wanted if that person has been “liquidated” according to their own assertion?
It should be reminded that on October 27, President of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan informed that Jalal Harutyunyan had been wounded in a battle position. A decision was made to replace him with Mikayel Arzumanyan as Minister of Defense. Later it was reported from Artsakh that Harutyunyan’s life was not in danger, and the injury he received was not serious.
