After closed-door discussions, during the briefing with the journalists, head of the faction Lilit Makunts stated that a working discussion took place between the faction and head of the agency. Makunts noted that such discussions will be held with heads of other agencies too.
In response to a journalist’s question on the legal grounds for inviting Mr. Ananyan to the parliament, Makunts confidently claimed that other parliamentary factions can also convene such discussions.
Nevertheless, it should be noted that the Law on Rules of Procedure of the RA National Assembly stipulates the powers of the factions according to which the faction has the right to convene parliamentary hearings, as well as turn to members of government with written enquiries. However, the parliamentary faction has no right to invite/call a member of government or head of any agency adjunct to government for a closed-door working discussion.
