On the morning of September 21, 2022, Vladimir Putin announced a partial military mobilization throughout the country.
Before this, the Ukrainian troops had already launched a counter-offensive, achieving some success on the front.
The announcement of the Russian President was followed by protests, and crowds of people gathered at the borders of Russia. Moscow-Yerevan flight prices increased ten times overnight.
It is interesting, however, that Putin’s military mobilization order contradicts his earlier promise, given on March 8 of this year, that conscripts and reservists would not participate in military operations.
“I emphasize that soldiers undergoing mandatory military service do not and will not participate in military operations; there will be no call-up for reservists, only professional military personnel will perform the assigned tasks. I am sure that they will efficiently ensure the safety and peace of the people of Russia”- announced the president of Russia.
Russia attacked Ukraine on February 24, 2022 and managed to succeed initially. Gradually, however, the goal of military operations became the complete capture of Donbass, however, the Ukrainian army launched a successful counteroffensive.
