On March 5, an article was published in one of the Armenian news websites saying that Armenian airways were closed and all the flights stopped when Nikol Pashinyan was returning from Iran.
Moreover, in order to appear more credible, the website even mentioned that the plane, which served the delegation headed by Nikol Pashinyan landed on February 28, 21:30, and because of this all the runways were closed at 19:00 both for departing and arriving airplanes.
To check this information it is enough to visit the official website of Zvartnots Airport and search all the arrivals and departures on February 28. It will immediately become clear that there was nothing extraordinary about departures and arrivals at Zvartnots Airport at the specified time.
We all know what strategic importance Zvartnots International Airport has for Armenia, and the closure of the country’s airspace for such reasons does not fit in the logic of Armenia’s interests, to put it mildly.
It is also noteworthy that apart from spreading misinformation, the above-mentioned website, casts doubt on the activity of the facility that is of strategic significance, which can also lead to panic.
